Melchizedek, the King of Salem, encourages Santiago to follow his Personal Legend, his path and life's dream. He discusses the significance of Personal Legends and gifts Santiago Urim and Thummim, stones to interpret omens, taking a tenth of his sheep as a fee.

Santiago's Journey

After selling his flock, Santiago's journey to Africa begins. In Tangier, a robbery leaves him penniless, leading him to work for a crystal merchant. This period becomes a learning phase about life, business, and dreams.
